The ‘in between’ bit.

Weddings are amazing and memorable days, but they can also be very long.

One part of the day I like to call the ‘in between bit’ is the two or three hours after the wedding breakfast and before the night do. Everyone is full and a little bit sleepy.

Those people who have booked a room may try to slope off for a quick nap before the ‘night do’ starts. However there will be other guests who will just be sitting around.

So whenever I exhibit at wedding fayres, I like to have a look at the other stands to get inspiration for this tricky part of the day. I can then suggest some ideas to my wedding couples.

Some good examples are, close hand magicians, lounge singers and companies who can provide wedding props like photo booths and garden games. Obviously, this is an added cost to the ever-expanding bill for a wedding, but it doesn’t have to be.

Why not prepare some games yourself? You could have a table with packs of cards, or board games like chess or connect 4. You could have a craft table or a bubble machine to keep the children busy. You could even write your own wedding quiz about the guests, or make a picture quiz of the guests when they were young and have small prizes for the most correct answers. There might even be some space to set up a small karaoke machine or interactive game to pass the time.

Your wedding planner would be able to support you with these ideas. Keeping the wedding atmosphere flowing and the guests entertained will always make for a memorable wedding day!
