What is a civil celebrant?

So, what is a civil celebrant?

A civil celebrant is a friendly and professional person who performs your wedding ceremony. They will spend time with you to create a ceremony which is all about you and  not a standard council script.

Please remember that a civil celebrant cannot legally marry you. You will need to book the legal registration of marriage in a quick ceremony in a registry office with 2 witnesses.

When you register a birth you don’t invite guests to witness it, you celebrate with family afterwards. The same thing should apply to your wedding ceremony.

Why should I choose a civil celebrant?

  • Because it is all about you, it is your own content not a standard script.

  • Because it can be performed anywhere at any time of the day, there is no need to have it in a licensed place.

  • Because you can include whoever you want, in whatever role you want. Children, pets, best woman, …..

  • Because you can include singing and dancing, hymns, prayers or rituals to honour your own faiths and beliefs.

You cannot have all of these in a registry, church or humanist wedding ceremony.

There is only one opportunity to get it right and why wouldn’t you want it EXACTLY the way you want it?

I can incorporate this traditional ritual into your wedding ceremony. Contact me for a chat.
